MODERNISATION OF THE YAGODYN CHECKPOINT

The State Agency for Restoration and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine is implementing an innovative pilot project. We are applying advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodology during the design of a new modern terminal at the Yagodyn international automobile border crossing point. This is an important step towards infrastructure digitalization, ensuring transparency and the highest efficiency of future construction.

THE PURPOSE AND ROLE OF BIM TECHNOLOGIES

The main goal of this pilot is the practical implementation of BIM as a powerful digital tool. It allows for seamless coordination of design solutions, strict control over quality, schedules, and precise work volumes. It is important to understand that at this stage, the BIM model is used in parallel with traditional design documentation. It does not replace classical drawings, but complements them, acting as a guarantor of accuracy and reliability of data at every stage of implementation.

INTEGRATION FEATURES

The uniqueness of the pilot project lies in the fact that BIM technologies are integrated into already defined, classical design stages without changing current state procedures. The digital model becomes an additional yet critically important tool to enhance the overall quality, spatial coordination, and absolute transparency of project implementation for all participants.

CREATION OF A SINGLE 3D MODEL

Within the project, a comprehensive digital 3D model of the facility is being created. It ensures the coordination of architectural, structural, and engineering solutions, automatic clash detection between sections, prompt reflection of changes, and precise verification of material volumes.

PREPARATION FOR CONSTRUCTION

In the subsequent stages of implementation, the BIM model will be actively used for direct preparation for construction works. It will become a key tool for visual control and verification of compliance of actual work execution with approved design solutions.

AS-BUILT MODEL AND OPERATION

Upon completion of construction, an as-built model is generated based on digital data. Going forward, this detailed information base will serve as a reliable foundation for the subsequent long-term operation of the new terminal.
